A full (I know it is mistitled) moon rising over the Bookcliff mountains near Fruita, CO. The Bookcliff Mountains parallel the Colorado river valley in western Colorado and eastern Utah. This area is extremely popular with outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Going north from downtown Fruita on 18 Road will take you to the base of the Bookcliffs and the surrounding Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. In this area single track bike trails, hiking trails, outdoor shooting areas and free range cattle can be found. It is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise all year around. The BLM also provides camping areas that are easily accessible off of 18 Road. The freewheeling mountain bikers seem to be the most frequent users of this area until the spring round up. Then cowboys on horseback mix with the bikers in their tights; a very interesting sight.
