The leaves are gone, the air is cold and winter is just around the corner. This image was taken in Fruita, Mesa County, Colorado near the James Robb State Park. The mountains in the background are part of the Colorado Monument. Snow is on the way.
Between the field and the Colorado Monument is the James Robb State Park. There are camping site here for mobile homes, tents, campers, etc. All year around tourists are using this area for an overnight. The Colorado River borders part of the camping area giving the visitors an opportunity to watch herons, geese, osprey, hawks and once and awhile a eagle soar through the area.
In the summer the park is used for concerts, weddings, family gatherings and children's birthday parties. The scenic background and the abundance of wildlife make this area a great spot to visit.
