A green iguana crawls down the stem and fronds of a jungle plant near Drake Bay, Costa Rica.

Green Iguanas are active during daylight hours, very adept moving around in trees, and are also often found near water. Agile climbers, Iguana can fall up to 50 feet (15 m) and land unhurt (iguanas use their hind leg claws to clasp leaves and branches to break a fall).During cold, wet weather, green iguanas prefer to stay on the ground for greater warmth. When swimming, an iguana remains submerged, letting its four legs hang limply against its side. They propel through the water with powerful tail strokes.

NOTE: All the images shown are digitally stamped for copyright and theft protection. All images purchased will not have the Fine Art America watermark! A Brownie box camera and a Boy Scout darkroom kit given as a childhood gift started my path and passion for photography. Throughout my life I've carried a camera with me to capture the moment in time. Many of my photographs evolve around family and friends. These remain in a private collection. However, as I've traveled the world, interesting subjects have attracted me and my lens. From the Empire State Building in NYC to the Great Wall of China and everything in between there has been a photograph to be taken. The subjects are as varied as stampeding horses to a stare down with a puma...
