Captured this trio of Tircans just a few kms out side of El Valle, Panama heading back toward Coronado. The Tircans are a distant relative to the beautiful Toucans that are found in Central America. Additionally, they are related to Goodyear, Firestone or Michelin tires found throughout the world. This unnatural mating caused the birth of Tircans. They are very rare and usually aren't found near towns and villages. Hiking in the dense jungles will give most Tircan photographers the opportunity to capture their colorful image. Big game hunters have ignored them because the Tircan meat is too rubbery and the epidermis is extremely tough. The local indian tribes let the tircans fly in peace. Folklore from the region indicates that capturing a tircan's image digitally will bring the shooter many years of good luck and good fortune.
