Nature from around the World 10/25/2012
This sad eyed leopard lives in a private reserve after being rescued from the former Panamian dictator Manuel Noriega. After the U S invaded Panama to capture the drug dealing dictator in 1989 this large cat was taken from one of Noriega's captains. The leopard's canine teeth had been removed and was kept chained and leashed. Now he lives out his life at a private reserve receiving proper and healthy care. Normally, I don't photograph captive animals but these sad eyes and the big cat's story is worth sharing.

A Brownie box camera and a Boy Scout darkroom kit given as a childhood gift started my path and passion for photography. Throughout my life I've carried a camera with me to capture the moment in time. Many of my photographs evolve around family and friends. These remain in a private collection. However, as I've traveled the world, interesting subjects have attracted me and my lens. From the Empire State Building in NYC to the Great Wall of China and everything in between there has been a photograph to be taken. The subjects are as varied as stampeding horses to a stare down with a puma...
