Jazz maestro pianist Ronnie Kole plays New Orleans Medley at the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, LA. Ronnie Kole is a member of the New Orleans Jazz Hall of Fame, and his statue can be found in the Jazz HOF Park on Bourbon Street. He passed away in August of 2020. He was a longtime friend and wonderful humanitarian.
French Quarter Fest launched in 1984 as a small, local music festival, but year after year the audience has grown exponentially, breaking records with over one half-million fest-goers at last count. French Quarter Fest has grown at such a pace, in 2011 organizers added the fourth day, Thursday, and refer to it as Locals Lagniappe Day.
Along with the stellar lineup of local musicians, more than 65 New Orleans restaurants set up shop in Woldenberg Park and Jackson Square a feat festival organizers like to call the worlds largest jazz brunch.
