A cottonwood tree bursts with gold as the leaves change for fall. Taken along the Colorado river near Fruita, Mesa County, CO. Horsethief Canyon road parallels the Colorado river and the western end of the Colorado Monument. Along road scenic vistas of the river and monument can be seen, but in the fall the changing colors of the cottonwood trees add to the beauty of the area. An abundance of wildlife can be spotted in this area, especially if the approach is quiet and non-threatening. Captured with a Canon 60D.
