This crumbling building that once belonged to Lawrence La Tourette Driggs is in Mesa County Colorado between Whitewater and Gateway on highway 141. This building was started in 1914 after Driggs aquired the land through the Desert Land Act. Driggs was well known in east coast society as a former district attorney in New York State and a successful author writing about aviation. Driggs lost interest in the Colorado property and sold it in 1923.
Today, there is an ongoing attempt to restore the property and stabilize the crumbling building.
