A pair of scarlet macaws watch the stalking photographer from their perch near Cana Blanca, Panama. Macaws are usually found on Coiba Island, Panama but about twenty years ago a pair of macaws were donated to a finca (farm/ranch) near Cana Blanca. They have multiplied to over twenty and continue to live in the area. Macaws mate for life and can live to be 70 years old. Fledgling macaws stay with their parents about a year and then take off on their own. At about five years of age they are sexually mature.
